Introduction to Electronics

Audience: High School

This course requires an additional $50 supply fee for an electronics kit (breadboard, wires, power supply, etc.)

In this 9-week Introduction to Electronics course students will learn the fundamentals of circuits, analog and digital signals, schematic design and more while they develop an illuminated LED light.

Students will gain real-world knowledge and life skills as they discover electricity and learn the basics of programming an electronic device. Perserverance and tenacity are take away skills learned while students work through testing and troubleshooting their project.

Students will walk away from this course with a better understanding of the functionality of lights and circuits.

Course curriculum includes:

  • Electrical Safety
  • Ohms Law
  • Open/Closed Circuits
  • Analog/Digital Signals
  • Schematic Design
  • Illuminating an LED light
  • Testing and Troubleshooting

Students are required to bring a laptop to class. The computer will need:

  • Windows 10 or 11 Laptop Computer
  • WiFi
  • 80 GB free space on hard drive
  • I3 or better processor
  • 8 GB RAM
  • Optical Drive preferable, but not necessary
  • atleast one working USB port

****Mac Products, Tablets, and Chromebooks will not be sufficient for this course****

Note: We provide a discount of $40 to cash customers. Payment has to be made within three days of registering. Payment must be brought to our office.
